A note
The living world is not a backdrop.
A shop sells things. It also sits in a world that is being cut, heated and emptied of animals. This page is for that, in plain words.
It is not a campaign badge. Buying here does not repair a forest. For every order, we fund the planting of one tree through Ecologi. The count is on the trees page.

Wildlife
The animals go first, and quietly. A wood without insects is already failing, even while the trees are still standing. Birds follow the insects. Larger animals follow the cover. By the time a place looks empty, the emptying started years before. Hedges, old trees and an untidy corner matter because so much wild wood has already gone.
What is urgent
Forests are still cleared for crops, timber and grazing. Seas are emptied. Weather that used to be rare is now the ordinary year. None of that waits for a shop to find a softer sentence.
The useful work is specific. Leave standing forest standing. Protect what is already alive. Plant only where a tree can live for a long time, of a kind that belongs there.
What this shop will not say
Wexbury does not plant trees itself, and it will not call an order carbon neutral. What it does is fund the planting of one tree through Ecologi for every order, and show the count from its Ecologi profile. That is a small, checkable thing. It is not a forest.
What is worth doing
Plant the right tree and look after it. Leave some of the garden alone. Buy less. Keep what you own. Do not trust a number of trees with no place attached to it.
The earth is not short of announcements. It is short of trees left standing, and of new ones kept long enough to become old.
Act now
If you are in a position to make a difference, act now. Wexbury has no link with these groups. A gift goes from you to them.
